The founding Directors of Challenge Sustainability, Jon Woodhead and Rob Pearson, each have extensive experience of sustainability consultancy for international organisations.

Jon Woodhead is a recognised expert in sustainability strategy, reporting and assurance, with over 20 years’ experience of sustainability and corporate responsibility management consulting. Jon’s recent clients include APP, Airbus, VEON, Kinnevik and Bawah Reserve. He has worked at Board level with many of the above companies, advising on sustainability strategy development, reporting and integration with core business objectives.
Jon has an M.Sc. in Environmental Impact Assessment, and began his career in the mid-1990s working with companies including British Airways and Unilever on global environmental reporting and assurance projects. After co-founding the consultancy CSR Network in 1999, Jon spent 10 years working with a range of multinational clients and other organisations on sustainability challenges, leading in 2009 to the formation of Two Tomorrows Group. In 2009 and 2010, he was recognised in the publication 'Who's Who' as a Young Business Leader. Jon was one of the four founding Directors of Two Tomorrows Group. Jon was responsible for the company's European operations, where he led much of Two Tomorrows work on corporate social and environmental strategies, benchmarking, assurance, evolution of management and governance arrangements, and communication strategies. In 2012, Two Tomorrows Group was acquired by DNV GL.
For DNV GL, Jon was Regional Manager, Assessment Services, where he was responsible for P&L performance of teams of sustainability consultants. In his role he led strategic advisory and assurance services on sustainability within DNV GL. Since leaving DNV GL at end 2017, Jon has worked as an independent consultant and became co-founder of Challenge Sustainability. He continues to work on specific assurance engagements for DNV GL with customers including Arcelor Mittal and others. Jon is currently working with a range of international clients on sustainability strategy and reporting.
Rob Pearson has worked in corporate sustainability for over 15 years in both industry and consulting roles, with a particular focus on sustainability reporting and communications, strategy, stakeholder engagement, materiality and assurance. He provides commercially pragmatic advice to support companies effectively identify, address and communicate their sustainability issues, supporting internal teams from senior management to operational functions.
Rob has broad global experience across industry sectors that include Pulp and Paper, FMCG, retail, transportation and agriculture. His previous clients include Asia Pulp & Paper, Bacardi, Coca-Cola European Partners, Guardian News & Media, Heathrow Airport, JTI, LafargeHolcim, Morrissons, Reckitt Benckiser, UPM, WBCSD and WWF.
Prior to co-founding Challenge Sustainability, he worked as a Senior Consultant at DNV GL for five years, spent four years at the sustainability consultancy Two Tomorrows Group and five years at Stora Enso as a Sustainability Manager.
